Your first session is free as a way to test out the Otley Maker Space - please contact us if you'd like to take advantage of this, either by calling in during one of our regular sessions (see calendar) or getting in touch via email.
The monthly membership fee covers all visits (although non Keyholders can only visit when a Keyholder is in attendance) and use of all equipment except the laser cutter, for which a small additional charge is payable. Membership is restricted to adults (18 and over), but members may bring one or two children (depending on age) to the Maker Space for free.
Membership rules
1. Membership is £20 per month.
a. New members will complete a membership form and set up a standing order to pay their dues, and will only become members once the first payment has been received.
b. Prospective members may attend one free session (see 2 below) before joining.
c. New members will be considered for Keyholder status once they have:
i. Accumulated six attendances of at least one hour.
ii. Been vouched for by two current Keyholders.
d. New members can either attend during our hosted sessions (see 2 below) or by organising on Slack for a Keyholder member to be present.
e. Keyholders have all day, all-week access with keys, door codes and alarm fobs, but attention is drawn to our Lone Working and Noise Policies and to section 12 of the Members’ Handbook concerning use of the space by Wharfedale Men’s Shed on Mondays.
f. A concessionary membership rate of £10 per month is available for those on benefits or in full time education.
g. The Otley Maker Space reserves the right to withdraw membership at any time in accordance with the Disciplinary & Complaints Policy.
2. We have hosted sessions in the week during which a Keyholder will be present at the Maker Space, and non-members interested in a visit will be directed to these sessions. These sessions are listed on the calendar page of the OMS website. At present they are:
a. 10:00 - 14:00 on Tuesdays and Fridays.
b. 19:00 - 22:00 on Wednesday evenings.
c. 11:00 – 15:00 on Saturdays.
